We will be making a cute paper plate mouse today!

Supplies you'll need:
Construction paper (pink and whatever color you choose for your mouse to be)
Color your paper plate with the color you'd like your mouse to be. I chose brown, but feel free to go for an exotic color if you so desire :) Glue on your googly eyes and then color in a small nose.
Twist your pipe cleaners around each other in the middle and leave straight or bend to give your mouse some squiggly whiskers. Draw in a small smile.
Freehand cut two big ears (I fold the construction paper and cut so that my 2 ears will be exactly the same size) with the color that your mouse will be, then cut 2 smaller size ears in pink. Glue the pink down on top of your other color, then place a small strip of glue down on the back of the ears to glue them to the plate. Glue down your whiskers in the middle and you are all set. If the pipe cleaner won't stay down, tape might work better. You just made a cute mouse!
Use this craft activity as an opportunity to learn more about mice with your children. Where do they live? What do they eat? What kinds of different mice are there? For some fiction books about mice, some of my favorites are If You Give A Mouse A Cookie, Mouse Mess, and The Little Mouse, the Red Ripe Strawberry, and the Big Hungry Bear.
