Today we are making a goldfish using tissue paper and a paper plate.

Supplies you'll need:
Orange tissue paper
Turn your plate over and color it orange. Cut out a triangle shape on one side to make the mouth, then glue that triangle piece on the opposite side to make the fish's tail.
Cut your tissue paper into tiny rectangles/squares, and begin to glue onto the plate to make the fish's scales. Cover the whole plate this way, then glue on your googly eye.
Extend your craft into story time with the books Gilbert Goldfish Wants A Pet or Not Norman: A Goldfish Story, which we read as part of the national Read for the Record campaign a couple years ago. Have you ever thought about getting a pet for your child? Goldfish are a great low maintenance first pet to teach kids about responsibility.
