This is an extra special Father's Day at our house this year, as it is our first one! We missed it by exactly 1 week last year when Violet was born. So even though she can't talk yet and tell him herself, I wanted to let my husband know how much he means to her. He is definitely her world; she is a daddy's girl through and through. She lights up when he walks in the room and he never fails to make her laugh. Thank you Tim for everything you do for our baby girl! You are an amazing Dad.
I have 2 simple crafts to share with you today that we'll be presenting to Tim this Sunday for Father's Day. To personalize them, Violet put her footprints on them. She unfortunately could not color them in herself though, as all she wanted to do was eat the crayon. We'll get there someday!

Supplies you will need for the superhero craft:
crayons or colored pencils
Our first craft is to let Dad know that he is a superhero! I've made a printable that can be printed out (link is here) on cardstock and colored in. You will need tempera paint of your color choice (we did blue) and then dip either your foot or hand in and press down near the superhero's back to make a cape. Once it dries, color in. Make sure to color the area between the print and back with the same color as the paint to make the cape seem attached.
Our second craft is to let Dad know that he is #1 in the style of a blue ribbon prize.
Supplies you will need for the #1 Dad blue ribbon craft:
blue construction paper
Again, dip your foot or hand in tempera paint and press down onto the paper plate. Once it dries, color in the middle part with colored pencil and write out #1 Dad in glitter glue. Cut out 2 long rectangles with blue construction paper, and cut a triangle out of the middle of each one, then glue onto the back of the plate to make it look like a ribbon.
Father's Day is the perfect time to cuddle up and read some stories featuring daddies. Two that I love and that we will be reading this Sunday are Daddy Hugs and The Very Best Daddy of All. I'm a big fan of both of these authors. I wish all of the fathers and father figures this Father's Day the very best!
